Astrapak contributes towards Safripol Toy Campaign

Berry Astrapak contributed towards the fundraising efforts of Safripol’s 2021 Toy Collection Drive with a donation of used and pre-loved toys placed in the collection boxes at manufacturing sites across the country.

Safripol, a leading polymer producer and marketer in South Africa and Africa, in partnership with The Angel Network, a South African NPO offering help wherever help is needed, placed collection boxes at major shopping malls and various outlets nationwide to promote their annual campaign to supply toys to underprivileged children.

According to Safripol, over one million children in South Africa don’t know what it feels like to own a toy and this wonderful cause was well supported by the staff at Berry Astrapak. Through October and November, over a hundred toys were placed in the donation boxes and collected for the end of year cause. With support from individuals, schools and corporates, Safripol went from 10 collection boxes in 2020 to 54 boxes in 2021, to put many more smiles on many more children’s faces over the festive season.

Berry Astrapak Group Operations Executive Nawaaz Kalick said: “Investment into an individual’s self-worth and dignity is as valuable as any financial investment. Berry Astrapak were delighted to participate in this programme when approached by Safripol. Therefore, along with various other socially focused programmes, we jumped at the opportunity to also try and make a difference in the lives of these children. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Berry Astrapak employees for their generosity, and look forward to being able to support similar initiatives in future.”
